Tablet Weaving

Tablet or Card Weaving is a fun and economical way to try out tape weaving.  It creates a sturdy weave and intricate designs are easy to accomplish.  I’ve compiled some great resources to get you started:

Shelagh Lewins’ web page “The Ancient Craft of Tablet Weaving: Getting Started” covers everything you need to make your first sample.

Malarky Crafts give basic instructions for tablet weaving.

Phiala’s String Page “Tablet Weaving” has great examples of the complex weaves you get with tablet weaving as well as a ‘how to’ and links to several great resources. You can also find information about other fiber techniques including Loom weaving, Sprang, Braiding and Lucet among others.
